RFID Security Function

Two RFID keys (transponders) included in delivery, lock and unlock the hard drive by simply holding them over the RFID reader intergrated in the housing. The RFID access is protected by a 128 Bit key according to the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). By the use of the AES encryption method it is practically not possible to find two keys of the same ID. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is the identification by electromagnetical waves.

S.M.A.R.T Lock Hard Drive Interlock

The housing uses the S.M.A.R.T funktion of the hard drive and gives independtly an ATA password. This password protection will activate automatically once the hard drive is removed from the housing, turned off or locked by the RFID key. The deactivation of the password protection occurs with the unlocking of the hard drive using the RFID key. This avoids a readout of the hard drive outside of the housing.

Data Encryption

Data stored on the hard drive will be encrypted additionally using a manufacturer's algorithm to advance the security.
